Reviews

I have seen a few reviews on people's blog lately and have enjoyed them. I thought I would leave a few of my own. We have rented a few duds from redbox lately. That is what is nice about redbox you don't feel like you have wasted your money. One movie we turned off and returned it, It was that boring. So Stillman was a little leary about renting Fame. He has never seen the original 1980's Fame. He had no idea what the movie was about. I had not heard any reviews so I wasn't sure how well the remake did. However I loved it.

Defiantly going to buy this one. It is a story about "a group of dancers, singers, musicians and actors at the New York City High School of Performing Arts, and their spirited drive to live out their dreams of stardom."

I read this book this year. It is true story about an LDS American Spy in Russia. It is marked as fiction as most of the things he tells about are classified, therefore he had to change the names. Micheal Ramsdell is an American intelligence officer in Russia. He has just been made. "spy speak for his cover is blown" he now must escape via the 6,000-mile Trans-Siberian Railway. He is Broke, Injured, Starving and in a hostile country. As he travels he thinks back over his facinating life as an Intelligence officer.

"A Train To Potevka
is a story of sacrifice, hope, and second chances. It is about love of family, home, and country. Most of all, it is a testimony to the basic goodness of man and the compassion and concern of a loving God."

The Kids have Loved these books. We borrowed them from the library but I would love to have them in our home collection. I just found out she has one more book in this series called Duck and Cover. We will have to get that one next. Duck at the Door is about a Duck names Max. Max comes one winter night to a house full of animals and there loving owner Irene. He soon makes himself at home and becomes a nuisance, But when it comes time to migrate, his new family realizes how much they have come to love Max......

Duck Soup (not the Marx Brothers) is about an adventure that max has while living with Irene and friends. Max has a dream of becoming a chef and making the perfect soup. When he goes out to the garden for a minute his friends Brody, Dakota and Bebe think that Max has cooked himself, and thing go horribly wrong for Max's soup.

playing with textures

I have been experimenting with a technique involving different textures . I use to have to do this in a dark room and it would take several tries before getting right. Then you would have to hand tint the pictures to get that old look. It amazes me how much digital photography has simplified things. I got these textures from a site called Lost and Taken. There are three of them that I used. To were old books and one was a water color page. They are free textures. They are awesome. I am inspired to go and shoot my own textures now. I posted a few more textured pictures here. I also used an old daguerreotype for a more grungier look on one of them. Go take look.

Marcel.........Marcel did you poo in the shoe?!

You know I thought the worst thing about having a dog would be cleaning up the mess. But Ginny has been fairly good. With the exception of the brief episode of puppy biting. The only thing I need to break her of is jumping up on people and counters. If I have a treat in hand she obeys. Since her early days of house training she really hasn't had that many accident. No, Ginny is not that bad,

Jayden on the other hand........................................................! Jayden is going through a naked phase. (sigh)

Taken at 6 mo.

He loves taking off his coat, shoes, socks, pants, and yes his diaper. Every time we change him he takes his diaper back off. Stillman and I were in the office and he comes streaking through, Stillman screams AAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH! Jayden panics and ducks and covers. We had a good laugh. Alex comes and tells us that Jayden has his diaper off. So Stillman goes to put it back on. Just then Alex says YUCK! Yep! Jayden had pooped on the carpet. (Remember the brown carpet I wanted so bad because it camouflaged every crumb.) That wasn't even that bad.

Tuesday. Tuesday disaster hit. Alex comes and tells me that Jayden's diaper is off. Not just off. "Mom you don't understand, Jayden has pooped on the floor and stepped in it." I turn around and Jayden walks in the office. With a trail of poopy footprints behind him. "JAYDEN!" and the chase commenced. I chased him through my front room (white carpet) And twice around the kitchen table and over the couch pillows. It seems he tried to change his own diaper because little pebbles of it were scattered on the camouflage carpet. It was so bad I couldn't even put, cleaning up poop, as my facebook status.

I am so torn. Part of me is excited because I recognize the beginnings of potty training readiness. and the other half grrrrralkjsdl@if*jowi*enmf. I brought Jayden upstairs with a stern "NO, NO, That is Naughty" and a spanking. (not really) He was still covered in poop! Jayden looks at the bath, giggles, and says with his hand in the air. "ALL RIGHT!"

(deap breath) Whatever.
