We have an awesome Advent calendar the Grandma LaVerne made for us. Every year the kids want to put The Baby Jesus up first. I never let them. I make them wait until Christmas Eve to him up. They play with the pieces everyday and we lost the Baby. This happened last year too. I didn't find him until after Christmas last year.
So this year Alex Says :"We are going to have to cancel Christmas if we can't find him." He even told his aunt Brigitte that we might have to cancel Christmas.
He get's it! Thank you Primary Teachers and Dr Sues. Christmas isn't about packages or bows.
Luckily Christmas is saved I found him stuck behind one of the Camel's (Velcro) that was already on the nativity calendar. We have him now Velcro-ed behind his manger for safe keeping and he will be swapped on Christmas Eve.

Kids Say......
Here is another one for the journal.
Alex: "I got my running lessons from Ginny, That's why I run so fast."
After soccer practice I told him he did a really good job tonight.
Alex: " I guess my running lessons paid off."
Jayden's I think you might have had to been there for it to be as funny as it sounded. But I want to record it because I want to remember it.
Jayden was being very hyper in the car. He does this alot. He likes to scream in the car too. Something we are working on. Somwhere in all his hyper nonsense babbling he starts saying yelling MOOO MOOO MOOO then in a very sweet calm voice " Hi Cow"

Teaching Moments
We took the kids to the Apple Orchard last month. The kids had so much fun. This experience was so great for them. We were able to teach them about Service, a little about Canning, and how you can get apple cobbler from a Tree!

Q - "Do you know what they keep in the preservation room?"
A - "Delicious Jams and Jellies?"
-National Treasure
The kids thought it was funny to let the apples hit them on the head. I know. I know. Too many anvils.
Jayden later fell. Good catch Mom!
So sweet!
We put these little ones to work. They peeled all the apples themselves!
"It's Ming Ming" (It's actually Linny)
Boil, Boil
Toil and Trouble!

We are saving these for apple pies and cobbler!

Super
Alex and I found a Super Hero store in the Karcher Mall. Alex was in Awe. He even forgot about how hungry he was and how sad he was that the pretzel store was closed. He spent an hour looking at all the figurines before deciding to spend his Tooth fairy money on a Batman pez dispenser. We then went to McDonalds because we were so hungry. A soldier was sitting next to us. Alex says "Mom look a soldier, superheros do exist in this world."

Ladies Man
Getting stories about school from Alex is like pulling teeth. But when he finally does tell them they are so cute. Thought I would share this story.
Alex told me that at snack time (during recess) he offered some of his pretzels to the girls, Yes plural, sitting next to him.
Alex -"But I didn't want to share all my pretzels with them because then I wouldn't have any for my after school snack"
(He shares his left overs with Jayden when he gets home.)
"when I told them they couldn't have any more, they turned back around into their circle and started talking again. Like this."
(He demonstrates this including mimicking their faces. Then he gets this big grin on his face.)
"So maybe next time you can send me with two snacks. So I can share one bag with the girls."
Now I am sitting here listening to Jayden who has started singing along with all his movies. So Cute!

First Day of School
Alex has officially started Kindergarten! The night before school started he told all his toys that he would not be home to play with them. Then he says to me. "Just in case they come to life when we go downstairs."

The kindergartners get their own playground

This is a picture that Alex drew of himself walking to school. Complete with Stripe shirt and 20 fingers. His teacher uses funny expression's like Oh Dirty Darn, Bummer. It makes Alex laugh

His Cubby

We got to stay at the school for Instructions, a tour and to help the teacher stuff all their folders until lunch time. Alex said that after we left he got lost and could not find his teacher. :( It seemed like he wasn't so sure about this school thing. But this morning when I told him he didn't have school today, he was sad because he wants to go to school everyday. Jayden asked "where Alex?" Then he said. "He's Lost"
