GOAL!!

I am now a Soccer Mom. Stillman is now a Soccer Coach. Alex is now a Soccer player. I never really imagined being a soccer mom as neither Stillman nor I have ever really been interested in Soccer. We are more of a football family. but how can you resist when they look this cute!

We have had a bit of a struggle since all of our kids are first years and we are playing teams that have a mixture first and second year kids. Not to mention I don't think we have gone a week without someone on our team being sick with the flu. However they are making great strides and really getting the hang of it now. Today Alex scored two goals. (They are not his first goals) but still very exciting whenever it happens. Actually he scored three, but the third one was an accident. He was trying his hardest to keep the other team from scoring a goal but the ball hit his foot and then went in the other teams goal. He was so cute when he was telling us how disappointed he was that he had did that. We told them that he still did a good job at getting between the goal and the ball. He always says "I want to play defense today." I am not sure he knows exactly what that means, but he is good at it. I will have to post some video later. We still have two games left if anyone wants to come watch. They are Saturday the 17th at 11:30 a.m. and Saturday 24th at 11:30 a.m.

His jersey is the same color that Nikki's was. And Nikki's number was 9. Good job for Alex scoring goals! I think Nikki only scored one goal the whole year. A couple of her team mates were really good and a bit of ball hogs at times but oh well. And I think that one goal was in the other team's goal too. hehe I hope your kids get better quickly. Sorry they are sick.

very cool. I am sure the title "soccer mom" awaits me as well.......but perhaps he'll take up sewing instead! I've been doing lots of it, and he sure seems interested in the machine!

Yes, he is a cute little soccer player. I'll try and make it to one of his last games. I can't believe how incredibly busy I've been since Tony left. Probably a good thing though. It takes my mind off that. Get better soon!
