playing with textures

I have been experimenting with a technique involving different textures . I use to have to do this in a dark room and it would take several tries before getting right. Then you would have to hand tint the pictures to get that old look. It amazes me how much digital photography has simplified things. I got these textures from a site called Lost and Taken. There are three of them that I used. To were old books and one was a water color page. They are free textures. They are awesome. I am inspired to go and shoot my own textures now. I posted a few more textured pictures here. I also used an old daguerreotype for a more grungier look on one of them. Go take look.

Marcel.........Marcel did you poo in the shoe?!

You know I thought the worst thing about having a dog would be cleaning up the mess. But Ginny has been fairly good. With the exception of the brief episode of puppy biting. The only thing I need to break her of is jumping up on people and counters. If I have a treat in hand she obeys. Since her early days of house training she really hasn't had that many accident. No, Ginny is not that bad,

Jayden on the other hand........................................................! Jayden is going through a naked phase. (sigh)

Taken at 6 mo.

He loves taking off his coat, shoes, socks, pants, and yes his diaper. Every time we change him he takes his diaper back off. Stillman and I were in the office and he comes streaking through, Stillman screams AAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH! Jayden panics and ducks and covers. We had a good laugh. Alex comes and tells us that Jayden has his diaper off. So Stillman goes to put it back on. Just then Alex says YUCK! Yep! Jayden had pooped on the carpet. (Remember the brown carpet I wanted so bad because it camouflaged every crumb.) That wasn't even that bad.

Tuesday. Tuesday disaster hit. Alex comes and tells me that Jayden's diaper is off. Not just off. "Mom you don't understand, Jayden has pooped on the floor and stepped in it." I turn around and Jayden walks in the office. With a trail of poopy footprints behind him. "JAYDEN!" and the chase commenced. I chased him through my front room (white carpet) And twice around the kitchen table and over the couch pillows. It seems he tried to change his own diaper because little pebbles of it were scattered on the camouflage carpet. It was so bad I couldn't even put, cleaning up poop, as my facebook status.

I am so torn. Part of me is excited because I recognize the beginnings of potty training readiness. and the other half grrrrralkjsdl@if*jowi*enmf. I brought Jayden upstairs with a stern "NO, NO, That is Naughty" and a spanking. (not really) He was still covered in poop! Jayden looks at the bath, giggles, and says with his hand in the air. "ALL RIGHT!"

(deap breath) Whatever.

Christmas, Rugby, Dancing and volleyball

I posted some examples of the prize I am giving away on treasured portraits blog. Have a look. Comments welcome (hint hint)!!

January didn't fail us. Once again we were sick. Jayden and I both went another round with strep throat. However we were able to get to the doctor quick and were cleared to be exposed within 24 hours. So we have been able to get out and do some fun stuff. Stillman has been playing rugby with some friends. He has a blast. Anyone want to come you are welcome. It isn't a league, it is just a group of friends getting together to play for fun. It cost Five dollars to pay for the rental of the gym, pitch, whatever.

Running Man in action

The Kids entertained themselves by locking themselves into lockers. This idea was given to them by their fathers. Great Idea Dads!
We celebrated my birthday. Stillman got me a China Hutch that I love. I have been wanting one since we got married. When we registered we didn't really think that people would buy us a full set of china, but they did. It has been sitting in boxes, that we have to dig out every-time we want to use it. Family came over and we had a great time playing games and visiting. I also got some Books, a lens filter,Clothes and Jewelry what more could a girl want. Gma Norton also gave me some vitamin supplements so I can stop getting sick. Thank you everyone for your company and gifts.

A rare moment, A picture with both my boys

Ashley invited me to play Volleyball with her ward. Our ward plays at 9:30 am and I can't get a babysitter every-time. Plus I don't trust my kids to just roam the halls alone. I haven't played in a couple of years, since I was prego with Jayden in fact. It was so fun to play again. She has agreat group of ladies in her ward. A big thank you to the Kuna 1st and 13th wards for letting me crash your game.

Stillman and I were able to go dancing at the institute. They are teaching the Lindy Hop this week. One of my favorite swing dances. We ended laughing at each other more than anything else. It was a great date night. We also ran into a four other old married couples from the dance team. It was great to catch up. Thanks Mom for babysitting.

These are some of my favorite pictures from Christmas. have fun and don't forget to pop over to my other blog to see some of the projects I have been working on.

This is the kids running to bed. So Cute! After Alex was done brushing his teeth, he was walking to his bedroom when Stillman came up the stairs. Alex jumps and goes, " OH. you scared me. I thought you were Santa!"
